A. Each championship bout is scheduled for twelve (12 Rounds). Rounds will be 3 minutes in duration with one minute rest period. For women championship bouts, the championship contest will be for (10 rounds) with two-minute rounds with a one-minute rest period.
B. The referee is the third man/woman in the ring and is the only person with the authority to stop the bout.
C. All bouts will be scored by three independent judges.
D. The 10-point Must System will be in effect for scoring purposes.
E. The Mandatory Eight Count after knockdowns shall be in effect.
F. All boxers must wear a mouthpiece during competition and a round cannot begin without the mouthpiece in place for both participants. If a mouthpiece comes out during the bout, the referee will call “time out” and have the mouthpiece replaced at the most opportune moment without interfering with the action of the round. If the referee determines that a boxer is purposefully spitting out the mouthpiece, he may deduct points.
G. There is No Standing Eight Counts for WBG Championship Title Fights.
H. The Three Knockdown Rule is Not in effect.
I. If a boxer is knocked out of the ring, he will have 20 seconds to re-enter and must not receive assistance from his seconds or he shall be disqualified by the referee.
J. When a boxer is knocked down, the bell cannot save him/her in any round.
K. If a boxer sustains an injury from a just blow which causes the termination of the bout, the injured boxer will be declared the loser by reason of TKO. If, however, an intentional foul causes an injury and the bout is terminated, the boxer causing the foul will lose by disqualification.
L. If the bout continues after an intentional foul, the referee will notify the judges and deduct two points from the boxer who caused the foul. It is mandatory for points deductions in the event of an intentional foul. Furthermore, if an intentional foul occurs causing injury in a later round, and the bout is stopped, the injured boxer will win by Technical Decision.
M. If the Referee determines that a boxer has presented himself in an unsportsmanlike manner, he may stop the bout and rule a disqualification against the boxer.
N. If an accidental foul causes an injury severe enough for the referee to stop the contest immediately, the bout will result in a No Contest if halted before 4 completed rounds. If an accidental foul causes an injury severe enough for the referee to stop the bout immediately, after 4 rounds have been completed, the bout will be declared a Technical Decision awarded to the boxer ahead on the score cards at the time of the stoppage.
O. A boxer who is hit by an accidental blow must continue the bout after a reasonable amount of time but no more than five minutes or he will be declared the loser of the contest.
P. The WBG Supervisor will conduct a Rules Meeting with the fighters and managers after the weigh-ins and before the fight.
