WBG Offers Opportunity for Over Looked Fighters

Welcome to the World Boxing Group’s website!

As a new boxing organization and sanctioning body, we at the WBG are excited to bring a fresh approach to the sport we love and support the many boxers around the USA and the world currently being overlooked. For 15 years, I was a leader in another such effort that fell flat after a few years of being re-established because in my opinion, the opportunity for up-and-coming fighters got lost in the shuffle.

Let me say this right off the bat. The WBG organization is not trying to be something it’s not. We will be a group of like-minded enthusiastic boxing people offering opportunity to fighters, promoters and venues interested in raising our sport to a new level. We are all about activity because without activity we end up with gyms full of boxers beating the bag everyday with no hope of getting a chance to show their skills in the ring. That’s why we have lost so many amateur boxers to Soccer Moms in Vans taking kids to soccer fields verses seeing them lacing up the gloves at a local gym like was the case when I was a kid in East Tennessee and all across America.

Jimmy Adams’ highly successful Country Box Promotions in Nashville, Tennessee will play host to our first title fight on Tuesday evening August 20^th and I invite you to come be a part of what will be an enthusiastic crowd. Promoters like Jimmy Adams, who has dedicated his whole life to the sport of boxing, are a testament and endorsement of what we can do when likeminded boxing professionals decide to come together in concert to elevate our sport and offer opportunities to young men and women who are being left out and over looked.

Our WBG family members are a diverse group from around the world who love boxing and we will be holding future championship events in every corner of the globe. Our agenda is to be a guiding light for our sport and for participants to have a unique opportunity to be given a chance whether they are boxing in Nashville, Tennessee, Nairobi, Kenya or London, England.

Each month on this page I will be reporting to you the activity of the WBG. These are exciting times in boxing and the opportunity lies ahead. I hope you will join us on our ride attempting to make professional boxing a better sport.
